Many people strive toward making it big in the writing world either as a non-fiction writer, a novelist, or a children’s book writer.  They spend countless hours writing manuscript after manuscript and submitting query after query, hoping that their big break is waiting to greet them in an email message from a big time children’s book publisher.  Sadly, many give up just when they are on the brink of making it to the top.  If you are a children’s writer and are looking for a few pointers on publishing, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Follow the Instructions
Every agent and children’s book publisher has fine print or instructions regarding their submissions policies.  It is important to review these instructions and follow them accordingly.  Never send your only manuscript blindly.  There are policies in place and agents and publishers may have assistants in place to discern whether or not prospective authors can follow simple instructions.  In short, it is important that you read the fine print so that you can ensure your hard work will be at least reviewed and not tossed in the recycle bin.

Research Your Favorite Authors
Make a list of a few of your favorite authors or at the very least the more successful authors within the children’s book genre.  Research their success and what steps that they took to get to that level.  It is important to study from those who have attained the success that you seek.  Sure, the path to success may be different for each person, but more often than not, successful individuals will discuss briefly a person who gave them their golden opportunity, and that is the perfect thing to take notes on.

Recognize Those Who Have Contributed Toward Your Success
Furthermore, if you take a look at the acknowledgments in any book, authors intentionally thank people who have helped them garner success.  Many times these people are agents, lawyers or publishers.  Take note of the names and look them up on the Internet.  You never know who might be able to help you on your journey towards success in your writing endeavors.

Becoming a successful children’s book author is the goal of many people in the world.  While very few attain such a dream, it can be done.  If you are interested in learning more about how children’s book illustrators can help you in this process, go to website name.
