Lighting technology has undergone quite a few changes in the Lake Forest area in the past three decades. Small area lighting in particular, such as areas under cabinets, initially progressed from fluorescent to halogen. Halogen, however, had a much higher draw of amperage. Today, LED lighting draws far less than either.

Enclosed-Fixture LEDs

Fixtures for LED
lighting in Lake Forest
are an easy replacement for enclosed halogen or fluorescent fixtures since they often have similar dimensions. They also lend themselves to remodeling in areas such as sink backsplashes by replacing the existing outlet with a dedicated switch and a line fished to the LED fixture.

Strip Light LEDs

These consist of an extrusion bar as a cover with LED tape on the inside. They can be less than an inch wide or deep so take up less space. A potential consideration is the 120-volt to 24-volt transformer or driver, which also needs to have a location. LED strip lights also require the installation and termination of low voltage and high voltage wires, which makes them suitable for new construction but a bigger project for remodels.

Puck Lights

Puck lights are often made as direct replacements for halogen. LED drivers can replace halogen transformers, and most existing wiring can handle the lighter loads for LED pucks.
